OAKLAND, Calif. -- Jason Richardson scored 25 points and

With Golden State missing many of its top players, Ike Diogu sees an opportunity.

Diogu had another strong game with 15 points and eight rebounds in the short-handed Warriors' 86-81 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night.

Golden State only had nine players available. Troy Murphy and Baron Davis have ankle injuries, Jason Richardson sat out with a sore knee and Mickael Pietrus has a strained right groin.

San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich's ejection lit a spark for the Spurs. Tony Parker scored 29 points and San Antonio rallied to beat Golden State 107-96 on Tuesday night. "We played with more energy in the second half," said reserve guard Beno Udrih, who scored 13 points. "(Popovich) got the technicals and that's when we said 'Let's go, guys.

Now that Mike Dunleavy and the Golden State Warriors are all but out of the playoff picture, they're playing with the freedom and comfort they've lacked for 2 1/2 months. If the Philadelphia 76ers don't pick it up while Allen Iverson is out, they'll be comfortably out of the postseason race as well. Dunleavy scored a season-high 28 points, Jason Richardson added 23 and the Warriors sent the Sixers...

Six road games, six losses -- and zero hope for a playoff berth, let alone another winning season for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Not even the slumping Golden State Warriors could squander this chance to send the wilting Wolves home from the worst road trip in franchise history with one more defeat. Mike Dunleavy scored 17 of his season-high 24 points in the fourth quarter, and the Warriors...

Warriors sign Bynum to another 10-day contract (AP)

The Golden State Warriors signed guard Will Bynum to another 10-day contract Monday. Bynum, a former Georgia Tech star, was leading the D-League in scoring with 24.0 points for the Roanoke Dazzle at the time of his call up March 17. He has played 29 minutes over four games with the Warriors.

This time it was Jason Richardson's turn to hit a buzzer-beater to help Golden State shock Dallas. Richardson scored 40 points, including a 3-pointer with less than a second remaining to send the Warriors past the Mavericks 122-121 on Thursday night. The Warriors surprised the Mavericks on their previous visit to Dallas on Dec.

This isn't the first time the Golden State Warriors have looked like a playoff team just after the postseason slipped out of reach. Still, if Jason Richardson and his teammates maintain this latest late-season surge, they've got a slim chance to put themselves right back in the pressure of the playoff race.

Warriors rookie Taft to have back season-ending back surgery (AP)

Golden State Warriors forward Chris Taft will undergo surgery Tuesday to fix a herniated disc in his back, ending his rookie season. Taft, a second-round draft pick from Pittsburgh, has missed 46 games this season with the injury, which causes chronic back pain. He hasn't played since Jan. 11, missing the last 32 games, and averaged 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 17 games this season.

Most of Golden State's fans finally have forgiven Gilbert Arenas for leaving them. They probably wish Arenas and Antawn Jamison would lay off the Warriors they left behind, though. Arenas scored 40 points and Jamison added 31 as they beat their old team with a sensational two-man show, leading the Washington Wizards to a 116-98 victory over Golden State on Monday night.

Everybody on the court could tell Mike Dunleavy released his final shot an instant too late -- everybody except Dunleavy, who popped his jersey and romped around the arena celebrating a basket that didn't count. His Golden State Warriors were an instant too late to avoid an embarrassing loss to the flailing New Orleans Hornets, who seemed just as surprised as Dunleavy to learn they were heading...

Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are a National Basketball Association team based in Oakland, California. "Golden State" is the nickname of the state of California, derived from the 1849 Gold Rush. The Warriors are currently the only major league franchise in the United States to exclude the name of their city, metro area, state or region from the team's name.
